Dimitris Tsoutsikas studied music performance at the Conservatorium Maastricht -Zuyd University with Carlo Marchione, at the Athens Conservatory with Costas Cotsiolis, and at the Municipal Conservatory of Lamia with F.Violatos and D.Kontoiannis. He performs and teaches original music for classical guitar, chamber music, as well as 19th century music with period instrument. He was a student of Yorgos Manesis.

 Dimitris Tsoutsikas was born in Lamia, Greece, where he currently lives.

Dimitris holds a Master's Degree in Guitar Performance from the Maastricht Conservatory of the Zuyd University, where he studied Music Performance under the supervision of Carlo Marchione. He also holds a LGSM Diploma and a Recital Certificate of the GUILDHALL School of Music & Drama, receiving the highest graduation scores between 1998-2000.

His earlier studies were focused on Music Performance at the Conservatory of Athens with Costas Kotsiolis. Dimitris began studing music at the age of thirteen in the Conservatory of Lamia with Fragiskos Violatos and Dimitris Kontoyiannis, where he received his first Classic Guitar Diploma. This early period of music studies has gladly been enlightened by the guidance of the distinguished Greek pedagogue, Yorgos Manessis (1931-2015).

He is a professor of classic guitar and chamber music at the Lamia Conservatory since 1993. He interprets and teaches prototype music for guitar, chamber music and music of the 19th century with a period instrument (replica R. Lacote 1830).

Dimitris is a frequent guest at numerous music events and festivals.

He has taught and lectured for many years in various seminars, such as the International Guitar Festival of Volos, the International Festival of Porto Heli and the International Winter Guitar Festival of Volos

In 2005 he was chosen from both R. Aussel and A. Manassen, president of the Messiaen Academy, along with five soloists to participate in the Zwolle Stichting Gitaarweken (Holland).

He has also contributed as a soloist with the Symphony Orchestra of the Lamia (Greece), under the guidance of maestro Ilir Erzeni, and with the string quartet  of the Porto-Heli Music Festival.

He holds collaborations with great musicians, such as Scott Kluksdahl (cello) Franc Shestani (violin), Vangjel Nina (cello), Iwona Glinka (flute), Katerina Vanou (piano), Giannis Siggounis (double bass) a.o.

He has cooperated with actors (A.Andreopoulou, E.Kotamanidou), poets (G.Hronas, S.Mihas), painters (D.Koltsidas, Ch.Apostolou, G.Koutrozis, S.Mavridou and B.Tselos in several interartist projects. He also holds collaborations, as music supervisor, in a number of theatrical productions of the Municipal Regional Theatre of Roumeli (Di.Pe.The. Roumelis).

Internationally recognized composers such as A. Dumond, K.Lignos, G.Hatzimihelakis, D.Kontogiannis, Th. Papadinitriou,      V. Vlahakis, and G.Vida have composed music for D.Tsoutsikas.

Sound recordings of his music performances have been presented on the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation  (3rd program of ERT).

Dimitris plays the guitar made by Alkis Efthimiadis.

Since childhood, Dimitris cherishes a deep connection with nature. His beloved phrase "Among life and death, I choose the guitar" is inspired from P. Neruda's poetry.
